Most people will be eligible to access a Medicare rebate to cover part of the cost of a session, for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year through the Department of Health's Better Access Initiative. To access the rebate you will need a referral or Mental Health Care Plan from your G.P., which you can bring to your first appointment. The first referral from your G.P. will be for 6 sessions, if you need further sessions in the same calendar year, you may be eligible to get a second referral for a further 4 sessions.
